“My crazy adventure in the world of collecting began when I was just 16 years old (and I will soon celebrate 56), when, while riding around on my trusty Vespa, I came across an old, now abandoned petrol station. There, on top of a forgotten bin, I made a discovery that changed my life forever: an enamel Shell X 100 sign.
Without thinking twice, I decided to bring that rusty piece of history home and hang it on the wall of my garage, behind my beloved Vespa. In the very next moment, I knew that my descent into the world of vintage signs had begun.
My passion then grew out of all proportion, pushing me to collect everything I could find. Over the years, however, I have refined my taste and have concentrated above all on automotive-related signs. Through interminable research in old workshops, markets and contacts with other enthusiasts, I have built a collection which today numbers around 250 pieces, almost all of Italian manufacture, dating back to between 1900 and 1960. It is precisely thanks to all the work that in these years I have carried forward that in 2022 I inaugurated my Museum, the Black Garage, seen by all enthusiasts as a small "Sanctuary" of the automobile.
In fact, my Passion does not only concern signs, but also petrol pumps, oil cans, scale cars and everything that recalls the first decades of the 1900s motorsport. After 40 years, this passion continues to burn inside me, ready to be fueled every day.”
