Mario Longoni
“The scent of 1930s paper immediately projects me into Art Deco Paris”
Mario Longoni is a collector and motorcycle expert with a history that dates back to his childhood, when he frequented the motorcycle workshop in his town, in Cesano Maderno (a few kilometers from Milan).
Since then, his passion has grown steadily, leading him to collect motorcycle magazines already at the age of 20, resulting in one of the largest existing collections, with publications dating back to 1914. Today, with over 5000 magazines, books , publications and brochures, Mario Longoni can be defined as a true motorcycle historian.

In his youth, reading period magazines, Mario discovered his love for the 1930s, considering them as the decade with the greatest technological development of the 20th century and finding inspiration in futurism and art deco. This passion led him to expand his collection not only to the motorcycles themselves, but also to all related objects, such as signs, oil cans, brochures, posters, advertisements and gadgets. With over 100 motorcycle-themed signs and hundreds of books, brochures, oil cans and gadgets, Mario has one of the most important Italian collections in this sector.
Mario loves paper material because to the touch it gives him the sensations of the years in which it was printed and it allows him to contextualise with absolute certainty anything relating to the world of vintage motorbikes. He has owned some of the most important pre-war motorcycles in history, including the Moto Guzzi Sport 14 and the Gilera 500 8-bolt, as well as English-made motorcycles and
French.
Thanks to his knowledge, over the years Mario has built a very rich network of motorcycle collectors, in Italy and the rest of Europe, thus contributing to creating a passionate community dedicated to the world of vintage motorcycles. With his contagious enthusiasm and vast knowledge, Mario Longoni continues to inspire and enrich the classic motorcycle community, with the sole goal of preserving the history of two wheels. His (unspeakable) dream is the Mercedes SSK Conte Trossi.
