Description
BMW M1 study model, 1:5 scale, coming from TIR of Reggio Emilia, the company responsible for the development of the bodywork, designed by Giugiaro's Italdesign. This is one of the very few preserved and original examples, still painted in its original orange paint. The sanding by the model makers of the time, designed to best refine the shapes of this fiberglass Maquette, is still present and visible, demonstrating that this model has never been retouched or restored. An identical example was decorated by Andy Warhol and then exhibited at the BMW Museum in Munich. The object is accompanied by its original tissue paper Blueprint, marked TIR, to further confirm the provenance of the piece.
